[ Alex has tried and failed to find Sofia, and her room is a little more bee-filled for his trouble. His other options? Metal guy. Who knows where he lives? Sinclair. Armed. He'll be on his guard. No good, no good, where does he go?

The hunt for the murderer's still afoot, right? The spliced-up murderer. What might he leave lying around his room? Something bright? Something delicious? It's worth a shot.

He'll have to be careful. Not show his hand too soon. Might get thrown off the case.

So he leaves the video off.

...Because without the video there's no way to tell that he's different. Riiight. ]

Nao-to?

[ ...ESPECIALLY NOT if his voice is tense and a little bit singsong shut up. ]

Nao-to...?

((ooc: action tags are welcome; he's using a wall comm on the tenth floor.))

*Masky's not backing down. He glares up at Alex. Stop being so freakshly tall*

Doesn't look like control.

*He looks down at Alex's hands, then back up at his face.*

What. Are. You doing.

Under control!

[ That's almost screamed; he grabs Masky's shoulders, the electricity still dancing over his hands, and shoves him backwards. Splicer electricity doesn't kill because physics in Rapture is just amazing, but this narration can't imagine being pushed around by hands full of it to be fun. ]

*He lets out a startled cry of pain as he's shoved back into the wall. Masky's never been electrocuted before but it's not unlike what the Operator does as a form of punishment. He grunts and hunches over, riding out the few seconds as the blue bolts of electricity arc across his shoulders. The moment that dissipates he straightens slightly and sends a fist flying into Alex's midsection. Hard.*

[ And Alex is sent oofing and stumbling backwards, hard. It's partly the punch, which makes him see stars (oversaturated and unsteady ones, fittingly), and partly the unfamiliar, unpleasant sensation of ice tearing out of his skin all over his body, like he's some kind of winter-themed needle bomb.

The dice fall in Masky's favour and it doesn't freeze him. But he still has that little problem of flying shards of ice to deal with. ]

*Masky's still attempting to recover from the electricity which has sent his fractured mind into overload when an onslaught of icicles shoot out of Alex. The mask protects his face but many of them manage to tear his clothes and one embeds deeply into his shoulder causing his upper torso to snap back. He stares numbly at the small trickle of blood making its way down his jacket. Then back at Alex. Obviously it's a bad idea to hit him. Fortunately it'll be a few hours before the pain sensation registers in his brain. There's a few perks to having all the wiring in your head all scrambled!*

Alex! What are you doing?

*Not that Alex is really paying attention, but Masky's normally dead, monotone voice actually has some emotion in it here. Mostly disbelief and a little bit of anger.*

Th-the hell was...

[ Alex spends a couple seconds staring, because he honestly had no idea he could do that. He's not been melee attacked nearly as often as he's deserved since he had this one shoved into his body.

His t-shirt and jeans are now full of holes and very slightly bloodied, adding to the general Rapture theme.

If Masky's words register with him at all, it doesn't show; he snarls and retaliates then by aiming a punch at the man's head. It doesn't have half as much strength behind it as Masky's did, but his fist still crackles with electricity. ]

[action of really, really long tag]

[identity profile] timisnotme.livejournal.com 2010-08-11 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
*Aw hell. Remember the perks from having scrambled wiring? One of the cons is delayed reactions. Masky sees the punch far too late to react other than turning his head so he doesn't get hit full in the face.

He goes sprawling, jerking around as the electricity arcs through his head. He lays still for a few moments stunned. When he attempts to get up something is .. off. He rolls onto his side and tries to move his arm to prop himself up, but the wrong arm responds. He stares and tries again. Nope, left is right for the Masked Man right now. In any event, he struggles to get away, more concerned with leaving now than with finding out what the hell is wrong with Alex*

[action of oh man, your poor brain.]

[ NOT SO FAST. Alex has the sudden urge to finish the job his ice-hedgehogging failed to do - and he's been following his sudden urges pretty reliably lately.

He shakes his hands again, clicking the fingers in one of his thousand new nervous tics. Electrobolt shorts out, and the frost and icicles are back, his first and favourite plasmid. With an honest-to-god hiss, he flings a spiral of frost overarm at the struggling man. ]

*Masky hasn't gotten very far. It's difficult to walk when everythings reversed. And then he's enveloped in a frosty mist that coagulates and solidifies around him freezing him in place.

The masky-statue is not pleased with you Alex.*

[action of still being capable of moral quandries, kinda]

[identity profile] 40410.livejournal.com 2010-08-11 10:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ The masky-statue can suck it!

No, better. The masky-statue can sit there while Alex lifts his hand to hit it, brings his foot back to kick it, pummel it until it breaks, smash it into little pieces, kill -

- kill?

He sways on his feet.

The air is screaming again. This little fuck attacked him and he deserves to--

Something rises in Alex's mind, unbidden: the name Seth.

What the hell?

Then he realises, and it expands: the fact that Seth is probably dead, permanently real-world dead, because of Alex, and that's if he's lucky; a memory, not a feeling, but a memory of horrible heavy guilt. And he can't think well enough to know if this is different.

Frustrated, confused, he waves his arms and sends a blast of wind into the masky-statue, making it skid down the corridor away from him. ]

[action that's never been cold before]

[identity profile] timisnotme.livejournal.com 2010-08-11 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
*The masky-statue slides away from Alex, which is an absolutely horrifying sensation for the man encased in the ice. He can't move. He can't breathe. He can't change the direction he's looking. He's panicking. Why can't he move? He needs to breathe, he can't. His brain just yammers at him: You're going to die. You're going to die. You're going to die.

But just as Masky starts to lose consciousness from the lack of air the ice starts to crack and break away. He collapses to the ground drawing in huge gasps of air. What is .. ? He's shaking from the cold but, having never experienced the sensation before, has no idea what's going on. Before he's even fully thawed he's dashing into the nearest room and closing the door behind him. He leans against the door hoping that Alex won't follow. He wraps his arms around himself shivering, unsure what's causing it, or how to fix it.*

[ Masky's in luck: by the time he thaws, Alex has gotten distracted by another conversation (http://40410.livejournal.com/4916.html?thread=289844#t289844), and doesn't see him slip away. ]
